Ensemble EDEN - Clemens Lotz2

Clemens Lotz (*1993 in Offenburg, Germany) started playing the violin at the age of four as well as drums at the age of eight. After graduating from highschool he started studying jazz drums at the Hochschule für Musik in Würzburg under Bastian Jütte and Bill Elgart, both of which had great influence on his development. As a next step, after completing his bachelor’s degree in 2016, Clemens did his master’s degree at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam under Martijn Vink and Marcel Serierse. From August to December 2017 he took part in an exchange program visiting Temple University Philadelphia, where he studied under Byron Landham. Besides the regular lessons, Clemens participated in workshops and took private lessons with some of the greatest jazz musicians of our time, such as Jeff Tain Watts, John Riley, Jochen Rückert, Adam Nussbaum, Aaron Parks, Dick Oatts, Peter Bernstein and many more. Furthermore Clemens held a DAAD scholarship from September 2017 to September 2018.
